Not a lot going on around here this week. Just a few little projects.
Girl Friday split firewood…a mountain of firewood! The weather has been fairly mild with several foggy mornings. I love watching the cattle through the fog.The project I am most proud of is getting the antique stove I told you about last week cleaned up. Here is the before and after.Pretty sweet, huh? I’m very happy with how it turned out. For now it’s just “decoration”, but who knows…someday we may actually use it.
Yep, that’s about it…pretty quiet. Looking forward to what this week brings.
Hope you all have a blessed week.
Cleaning that stove is HUGE job! I have one sitting out in the garage just waiting for me. I love what you did to it. Any secrets you could share besides elbow grease and steel wool?

Actually besides elbow grease, I started by knocking off the worst of the dirt with a wire brush. Then just used warm water and a little squirt of dish soap and scrubbed a section at at time, blotting it dry. Some places I took an old toothbrush to. After everything was cleaned and dried off I used a soft cloth and oiled it down with….would you believe…vegetable oil! Just like a cast iron skillet. Worked beautifullly! 🙂

Okay…it doesn’t seem like too much of a job. Just getting to it and doing it.
Thanks!

It sure turned out great. Better than it LOOKED like it would look after a bit of cleaning.
