Tuesday Tour: Little Projects

tree close upNot a lot going on around here this week.  Just a few little projects.

kate and woodGirl Friday split firewood…a mountain of firewood!woodpileThe weather has been fairly mild with several foggy mornings.  I love watching the cattle through the fog.cows in fogThe project I am most proud of is getting the antique stove I told  you about  last week cleaned up.  Here is the before and after.Antique StovePretty sweet, huh?  I’m very happy with how it turned out.  For now it’s just “decoration”, but who knows…someday we may actually use it.

Yep, that’s about it…pretty quiet.  Looking forward to what this week brings.

Hope you all have a blessed week.

Actually besides elbow grease, I started by knocking off the worst of the dirt with a wire brush. Then just used warm water and a little squirt of dish soap and scrubbed a section at at time, blotting it dry. Some places I took an old toothbrush to. After everything was cleaned and dried off I used a soft cloth and oiled it down with….would you believe…vegetable oil! Just like a cast iron skillet. Worked beautifullly! 🙂

Love the photo with the cows in the fog and I’m most impressed you’ve already gotten that antique stove cleaned up. You don’t mess around!

It sure turned out great. Better than it LOOKED like it would look after a bit of cleaning.
