It’s been 7 months since I wrote a blog post.  I havent been away for any particular reason, it’s just sometimes life gets in the way of…well, life.

I havent been feeling well for some time now.  I won’t bore you with the details, except to tell you that in September I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis Disease.  It’s an auto immune disease that causes Hypothyroidism and has damaged my thyroid .  My worst symptoms are extreme fatigue and “brain fog”.  Many times I sat down to write and couldn’t put 2 sentences together.  After getting started on meds, I am finally starting to feel human again.  I haven’t decided yet how much of this journey I will include in future blogs.  Please let me know if any of you are interested in hearing more.

I thought about going back and catching you up on all that has gone on here at CBR the last several months, but I just can’t wrap my brain around all that.  As we approach the new year, one of my goals is to get back to blogging at least once a week.  So, here are a few highlights from my 2015.

Probably the highlight of my summer was a road trip I took with my daughter.atcadalacranch

We traveled through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and into Arizona along Route 66.  roadtripcollageWhat a wonderful, fun, exhausting trip it was!  I was so blessed to have been able to do that with my girl!

She also helped me cross something off my bucket list.  I have always wanted to see Garth Brooks in concert, so when I heard he was going to be performing 3 hours away from Kansas City we decided to go.  Before the concert started, a young man struck up a conversation with us.  Before we knew what was happening, he told us his boss was Garth Brooks and upgraded our seats to the FRONT ROW!!!!!!   Such an amazing experience!  Best concert ever!garthcollageThe best part of the year is the birth of our first grandchild.  Carter Scott was born in August just a day after his mama’s birthday.  I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful it is being Grammy!carter collage

Carter is 4 months old now and is such a joy!  I just can’t seem to get enough of him!  He is growing and learning new things every day.  I am so proud of my son and daughter-in-law…they are such good parents!jonesfamilypic

As far as things on the ranch, it has been a pretty uneventful year.  I look forward to sharing more as the new year goes on, and hope to hear from all of you.

My thanks to those of you who have stuck around.

Happy New Year!

Be blessed,

I am SO glad to see you posting!
I have missed you and wondered if everything was okay. I apologize for not checking on you…my only excuse is, (to use your own words) well, life.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as I hope you find relief and healing.
It sounds like despite the health issues it has been a year to remember.
Congrats on the grandson! Aren’t grandbabies “the bomb”? I had no idea there was SO much love until I met these tiny humans.
Happy, Happy 2016 to you and all of yours!
Love and hugs from the Valley,

Girl, I’ve been worried about your disappearance from the blogging world. At one point, I even emailed you. Guess I was considered spam. I’m sorry to hear about your thyroid problems. My sister battled thyroid cancer a year or so ago but is doing good now. Congrats on the grandbaby and I am most jealous of your trip along Route 66.

Thank you! I appreciate your concern and am glad your sister is doing well. I’m very thankful I did not have any goiter or tumers. Just nodules that will be monitered.
Someday I would love to start at one end of Route 66 and travel the whole thing!
Thanks for your comment and I look forward to hearing more from you! 🙂
